About 6 months ago, Mama Ewok had a complete knee replacement on her right leg. She had an odd excruciating pain behind her new knee that was left untouched by all her pain meds, from the morphine she started with immediately after surgery to whatever script the docs handed her as the days turned to weeks and the weeks turned to months of undiminished pain.
Her doctor finally agreed that something should be done and got her scheduled for surgery. He went in, found the problem, and corrected the mistake he made 6 MONTHS AGO!!!!
To make a long story the same length, Mama Ewok is again recovering from surgery and would like to have my daughter in Montana to help during her convalescence.
Tuesday I will be driving to Minot to drop her off with them, then after lunch with Papa Ewok and Mama Ewok (if she is feeling up to the trip), driving back home again.

I'm interested in what the mistake was. Let us in on it, or is there a case pending?
I am glad they fixed the "error" as if they would ever admit that was the case.
To bad Hillary didn't get that healthcare thing done yet. Then your mama wouldn't have had the surgery in the first place.
Drive safely.
Poor Mum
what a frustrating ordeal for her.
What a great photo opportunity for you to take some snaps of the countryside and life in North Dakota for us Aussies.
That's about 275 miles, Reg is right.. Please drive safely Sis.
Hope the latest surgery helps, Fiery. Chronic pain is a bitch.
Hope your Mom is feeling better.
Awwwww, thanks you guys! You are so awesome!!!!!!!
Richard- they are thinking about it. jeebus knows they could use the money. they aren't really the suing (i don't know how to spell that, it's 5 a.m. and i can't find my dictionary) type.
Protium- I will DEFINITELY take the camera, what a FABULOUS idea! I'm glad you suggested it, I probably would have thought of it an hour down the road. lol
Jacob- I have no idea how my Mum indured 6 MONTHS of constant hurt in the bend of her knee. She said it felt like a popsicle stick had been wedged in there. Pooor poor Mum.
Sean- :-) Thank you very much!!!!!
Your poor mom. My grandmother has had both knees done, one of them twice, it is a sucky surgery. She should feel glad though, I have co-worker who had hers replaced (both of them at the same time) and got a horrible staph infection in one of them. 2 Years later she is finally recovering and the pain is going away. It's amazing what kind of pain people can endure.
Drive safe!
Nice avatar, Jacob.
LOL - Coyote Ugly!
Maybe Aussies say, "Dingo Dreadful".
Fiery,
Can you tell us the mistake, or was "they're thinking of it" the "No, not yet."
That sucks! A friend of mine had that done and the replacement was to small. She ended up relapsing on prescription pills as a result... I happy to say last time i saw her she was still clean. But she had to have surgery twice too.
Richard- they are thinking about whether or not to sue. the problem was a pinched tendon that was crushed by two moving plates.
OUCH!
I sympathise with your poor mum, feeling crook is bad enough, but continual pain is a bastard!
Looking forward to the snaps:-D
tossing in my well wishes.
I hope she's ok. At least the guy fixed the problem - hopefully. Chronic pain is a bitch.
Thanks guys!!!!! I really REALLY appreciate the support!
I did get to see her yesterday and she is doing amazingly well. She received much better care this time around: surgical scar is straight, staples are evenly spaced, staples are perpendicular to the vertical incision, instead of higgldy-piggldy.
And the pain behind her knee is GONE!!!!! YAY MAMA EWOK!!!!!!
Good for her!
