How are you doing?

Do your kids play pranks you on April Fool's Day?

Do you prank them?

If so, what's the best prank they ever got you with or you got them with?

Hugs!!

Howdy Tracey!
*hugs*

I'm doing ok, I think. Keeping fairly busy with the startup of our bookstore so haven't been twittering, blogging, or online much at all.

Yes, the kids definitely play pranks on me, providing they are aware of the date. They are inevitably small harmless pranks. The one for today was my son coming back to tell me my daughter had eaten the last donought, which was supposed to have been his. When I expressed my shock and disbelief at her behavior, he smiled and said, APRIL FOOL! *giggles*

They're usually along those lines. I don't recall past April Fool's jokes, at the moment, will let you know if I think of any. I'm sure there have been funny ones, but... if I didn't write them down... I probably won't remember them. heh heh. oops.

Thanks for popping in, and so quickly!

:D

How long b4 the bookstore opens, or is it already open?

Are you missing your fellow twits, bloggers etc. cos I know we're all missing you, and will you get back to it all once the store is set up and chugging along? :)

We're getting the carpet installed on the 6th, then putting shelves in place, attaching them to the walls, moving in the books, getting the sign installed, setting up the checkout counter, and opening the doors. How long that will take I don't know. The damnable flood has really put a huge crimp in our plans and thrown the whole time scale off so completely. It's very aggrevating. Our timing could absolutely not have been any worse on this. Which is so damn typical of everything we try to do.

Will I continue blogging? I don't know. I've kind of run out of things to say. The blog has been languishing and crap for a long time now. My inconsistent posting has resulted in inconsistent feedback and that is disappointing. Apparently I feed off of the comments and when a post doesn't get any, *shrugs*, I get discouraged.

I do miss the friends I've made through blogging and tweeting. I just feel... disconnected and out of touch. And I don't know how to get back into the swing of things. :-/

Thank you! I miss your tweets too!
Big hugs and I wish you the best of luck with everything, always!

I still come by on a regular basis, so don't give up the ship. Though this is the first I've seen of a business venture, all I can say is "good luck". And let us know what your website is so we can buy stuff.

Bookstore sounds like great fun, once its open and trading. You doing anything special for your first walk up paying customer, apart from a sighed, "thank christ"?

No doubt the shelves will be by section, by author all alphabetical, which is fair enough. Then what, by height of book, highest to lowest, by colour, darkest to brightest? By weight, page count... hmmm, better shut up.

It'd be ashame to see your blog disappear, no matter how inconsistent the posts. I enjoy coming here and get a little peeved when there is nothing new up. "Think of the crazy rainbow ladies, who won't be ridiculed, like they should!" And that was meant to be motivating and not depressing.

Joe- :))))))))))

Orion- Well, ya know that post of yours I commented on recently about what I wanted in heaven?....but then I thought....not.

If we react toooo big to the first paying customer, we might scare them away and we wouldn't want that.

I had this hilarious image of a ticker tape parade with streamers and balloons, perhaps some doves, flashbulbs popping with wild cheers and raucous applause and the poor little ole lady with 3 romance novels in her bag having heart failure.

You'll never run out of things to say :) you're just busy...OK!!

Slumps come and they go, I'm sure you will be stimulated by all the customers that you will get, or just the mere fact that you'll be in town a lot more....yeah a stimulus package is just what you need lol

Hmmm, you make a good point about going too big, first up. Apart from the queue of waiting customers, there's also the insurance to consider, would it be covered if someone took a tumble?

If you could change any event in history without any weird whacked out unthought of consequences. i.e. dinosaurs not been extinct so you could ride them today and no whacked out things happening like humans never evolving, or mcdonalds burgers tasting good.

What would you choose?

Things I wouldn't change, but it would have been interesting.

1. I would change Charles Darwin's mom to Norma McCorvey.
2. I would have made Bill Clinton really black, then Barack wouldn't be our first half black president.
3. I would make the 9/11 planes crash into the UN.
4. I would have Al Gore really create the internet, and then retire, never to be heard from again.
5. I would include "poor by choice" into the Bill of Rights.
