Positive Message Billboards

Do they have them where you are? Big, white, blank billboards with just a few words printed on them in big black font. "SMILE" or "BE GRATEFUL". I keep wondering when they will add "OBEY". There is one on the road I used to take to work (before road construction season) that said "Smile". I farking HATE when people tell me to smile. I always, ALWAYS flip off the sign when I see it. Apparently I am not the only one to loathe those billboards.

Tuesnesday: ladies night out

Started the evening at Labby's and had the BEST quesadilla and a Mike's Hard Black Cherry. Just to get the evening started right.

And then we went to the Bombshelter. It's the bar in the basement of the local titty bar. Ohhhhh la la was the waitress hot. Wearing short-short daisy duke type shorts. I love when they lean against you and wrap their arm around your shoulder.

The bartender was a real sweetheart. I asked if he had any chocolate drinks and he didn't. So we invented one. Sweet jesus it was good.

1- UV Cake Vodka- did you know vodka comes in cake flavor? It does. And tastes like white cake. ohhhhh godd soooooo good.
1- Hazelnut (vodka?) couldn't see what brand he used so I used Frangelica to recreate it. Damn that shit's expensive.
sploosh- Half & Half creamer
glug- coke to top it off

mmmmmmm deliciously sweet and loaded with booze.

How to Read the Bible: A Guide for Christians

The Bible is an ancient(ish) text handed down through many generations, first orally and then finally written down. It has passed through many hands and several languages until it was finally freed by Martin Luther and translated into a language the average person can read.

As such, it is a convoluted tome that can cause much confusion with seeming contradictions and irrelevancies.

The following is offered as a guide to studying it.

You're welcome. :-) And thank you.

Law of the Garbage Truck

I got this as a forward from my mum. Liked the basic idea, but had to remove the jesus garbage. Blergh!

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car pulled out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us,finger flying.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call,'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

"Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets."

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so .. Love the people who treat you right and refuse to accept delivery from those who haul their garbage around looking for a place to dump it.

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

I think it's interesting. There is a fine line between telling someone about your day and dumping your garbage on them. When does it change from sharing to dumping? I've noticed in my own life that if I spend any amount of time bitching about my personal life, it just makes it worse. It focuses all my attention on what is wrong and getting more upset about it, and basically generating more garbage on top of what is already there.

Anyway, just a thought for the day.

Hope yours is free from others garbage! :D
